The fear of being laughed at makes cowards of us all.
journalist and author
Your legs are not giving out, your head is giving up, keep going. No one ever drowned in sweat.
My inspiration tends to come from two words. The two most important words to a writer: “what if?”
Be patient and tough; someday this pain will be useful you.
I hope you live a life you’re proud of.
If you find that you are not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
F. Scott Fitzgerald
Nothing hurts a good soul and kind heart more than to live amongst people who can’t understand it.
Ali Ibn Abi Talib
May my heart be kind, my mind fierce and my spirit brave.
When you’re trying to motivate yourself, appreciate the fact that you’re even thinking about making a change. And as you move forward, allow yourself to be good enough.
What I can do is offer myself, wholehearted and present, to walk with the people I love though the fear and the mess. That’s all any of us can do. That’s what we’re here for.
The fear of being laughed at makes cowards of us all.
“TRANSFORMATION is much more than using skills, resources and technology. It’s all about HABITS of mind.”
Ultimately, your state of mind determines your circumstances. To realize the outcomes you want, it is critical to recognize and experience the transition from our present thoughts, habits, and actions to new thoughts, habits, and actions.”
Darren L. Johnson
“Nothing happens until the pain of remaining the same outweighs the pain of change.”

Dr. Abdul Kalam
“There are no shortcuts for nurturing the movement toward wholeness other than drinking from the well of self-love.”
“You leave old habits behind by starting out with the thought, ‘I release the need for this in my life’.” – Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
“Chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken.”
Your net worth to the world is usually determined by what remains after your bad habits are subtracted from your good ones.
“No man has ever listened himself out of a job.”
Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the United States
Travel is the only context in which some people ever look around. If we spent half the energy looking at our own neighborhoods, we’d probably learn twice as much.

The easiest way to avoid wrong notes is to never open your mouth and sing. What a mistake that would be.
Joan Oliver Goldsmith,
The first thing that we know about ourselves is our imperfection.
It is never too late to reform, as long as you have the sense to desire it, and the strength to execute your purpose.
An injury is much sooner forgotten than an insult.

Accept the fact that some people didn’t intend to let you down. Their best is just less than you expected.
The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
If you live for people’s acceptance, you will die from their rejection.
It’s not my responsibility to be beautiful. I’m not alive for that purpose. My existence is not about how desirable you find me.
Everybody says they’re trying to get their piece of the pie.
They don’t realize that the world is a kitchen.
You can make your own pie.
Almost every successful person begins with two beliefs: the future can be better than the present, and I have the power to make it so.
The path to truly new, never-been-done-before things always has failure along the way. It’s supposed to be hard.

We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have these because we have acted rightly.
Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.

I seemed to have no choice but to go for it, so with my heart in my mouth, I did, figuring that if not now, then when? if not me, then who?
Our anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control it.
You often feel tired, not because you’ve done too much, but because you’ve done too little what sparks a light in you.
Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else understood if you fell apart, that’s true strength.

Every act of communication is an act of tremendous courage in which we give ourselves over to two parallel possibilities: the possibility of planting into another mind a seed sprouted in ours and watching it blossom into a breathtaking flower of mutual understanding; and the possibility of being wholly misunderstood, reduced to a withering weed.
Perception Is A Mirror
You respond to what you perceive, and as you perceive so shall you behave.
Every response you make
to everything you perceive
is up to you,
because your mind determines
your perception of it.
You cannot be aware without interpretation,
for what you perceive is your interpretation.
Understand that you do not respond
to anything directly,
but to your interpretation of it.
Your interpretation thus becomes
the justification for the response.
Perception selects, and makes the world you see.
It literally picks it out as the mind directs.
The laws of size and shape and brightness
would hold, perhaps,
if other things were equal.
They are not equal.
For what you look for
you are far more likely to discover
than what you would prefer to overlook.
The world can teach no images of you
unless you want to learn them.
Reality needs no cooperation from you to be itself.
But your awareness of it needs your help.
Perception is a choice
of what you want yourself to be;
the world you want to live in,
and the state in which you think your mind
will be content and satisfied.
It chooses where you think your safety lies, at your decision.
It reveals yourself to you as you would have you be.
And always is it faithful to your purpose.
Let us be glad that you will see what you believe,
and that it has been given you to change
what you believe.
If you perceive truly
you are canceling out misperceptions
in yourself and in others simultaneously.
Because you see them as they are,
you offer them your acceptance of their truth
so they can accept it for themselves.
Let us not rest content
until the world has joined our changed perception.
Let us not be satisfied until forgiveness has been made complete.
As I share the peace of the world with my brothers,
I begin to understand
that this peace comes from deep within myself.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Do I prefer to grow up and relate to life directly, or do I choose to live and die in fear?
In silence there is eloquence. Stop weaving and see how the pattern improves.

A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more

Creative thinking inspires ideas. Ideas inspire change.
One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man.
A mind that has no walls, that is not burdened with its own acquisitions, accumulations, with its own knowledge, a mind that lives timelessly, insecurely – to such a mind, life is an extraordinary thing. Such a mind is life itself, because life has no resting place.
Living in the moment means letting go of the past and not waiting for the future. It means living your life consciously, aware that each moment you breathe is a gift.
Acts of creation are ordinarily reserved for gods and poets, but humbler folk may circumvent this restriction if they know how. To plant a pine, for example, one need be neither god nor poet; one need only own a good shovel.
We’re all just walking each other home.
