It’s incidents like these that suggest the whole country would benefit from a history lesson on the ramifications of a global conflict that killed an estimated 60 million people. Would it even make a difference? As The Times thinks about how to commemorate the many anniversaries ahead of us in 2020, I’m asking readers to send us suggestions.

What anniversaries, stories or moments dating back to 1945 would you like to see The Times cover, reflect on or investigate? What stories remain untold or deserve further scrutiny?
