By ALEXANDRA: The Call of Duty: Soldiers Respond to Deadly Train Derailment
On Dec. 18, a brand new commuter train derailed over an interstate highway outside Seattle, plunging from an overpass across multiple traffic lanes, and taking its dozens of terrified passengers with it.
A soldier commuting to his early morning shift at Madigan Army Medical Center on nearby Joint Base Lewis-McChord saw the train derail and immediately rushed to help the injured passengers.
Army 2nd Lt. Robert McCoy was driving down the I-5 when he heard a loud bang and saw several train cars barreling down towards him.

But for one pair of Air Force twins, they’ve taken that commonality several steps further.
Staff Sgt. Jordan Peterson and his two-minute-older brother, Senior Airman Jarrod Peterson, are assigned to the Air Force Technical Applications Center here. They are both web developers for AFTAC’s Cyber Capabilities Squadron and share the same Air Force Specialty Code — 3D0X4. They in the same center, squadron and flight. They also sit within feet of each other behind the secure walls of CYCS’s help desk.

POWIDZ, Poland, Dec. 27, 2017 — The second nine-month rotation of the Atlantic Resolve Sustainment Task Force, attached to the 16th Sustainment Brigade, began earlier this month as the incoming rotation commenced reception, staging, onward movement and integration operations in Powidz and Poznan, Poland, beginning December 2017.
The incoming task force features soldiers from active, Reserve and Guard units. The units have come from Connecticut, California, Kentucky, Texas, Georgia, New York, North Carolina, Kansas and Virginia.

As a people, Americans come from all different walks of life. The United States has made a lot of progress in civil rights over the years as we learn more about different cultures and backgrounds of its citizens.
Today, we pause to recognize Medal of Honor recipient Army Staff Sgt. Macario Garcia, who became the first Mexican immigrant to earn this distinction.
Staff Sergeant Marcario García[1] also known as Macario García [note 1] (January 20, 1920 – December 24, 1972) was the first Mexican immigrant to receive the Medal of Honor, the United States’ highest military decoration. He received the award for his heroic actions as a soldier during World War II.
