People often say that you can’t see stars from the city. You can see some bright stars, and you can most definitely see bright planets! Here’s the brightest planet, Venus, caught over the Chicago skyline by Jake Gantz on February 3, 2017.
Jupiter is the brighter of the 2 starlike objects in the upper right of this January 22 photo by Niko Powe in Kewanee, Illinois. The other starlike object is the star Spica. The very bright object is the moon!
